About Us

MCARDD is dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through high-quality diagnostic, educational, and therapeutic services. Founded in 2005 by Dr. Alfred D. McNair, Jr., MCARDD was established with a mission to provide comprehensive support for families navigating ASD. Since opening its doors in 2011, MCARDD has been committed to early intervention, evidence-based treatments, and increasing awareness among physicians, educators, and the community. Our approach centers on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), using individualized programs to build communication, social, and adaptive skills. We emphasize parent training, ensuring families are active participants in their child’s development by reinforcing learned skills at home and in the community. Our data-driven decision-making process enables us to track progress and adapt treatment plans to best support each child's unique needs. MCARDD employs a variety of ABA methodologies, including Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Incidental Teaching, and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), ensuring that children learn in ways best suited to them. Positive reinforcement plays a crucial role in motivating progress, while generalization strategies help children apply learned skills across different settings. Through a collaborative effort of therapists, analysts, educators, and families, MCARDD remains at the forefront of autism services in Mississippi, committed to fostering independence and improving the quality of life for individuals with ASD.
