About Us
At the Autism Institute of South Carolina, founded by Pat McCarthy, Ed.D., BCBA-D, LBA, we specialize in providing high-quality services for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental concerns. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. McCarthy is passionate about promoting success in everyday life through the design and application of tailored supports. After founding the Institute in South Carolina in 2007, Dr. McCarthy has now expanded services to her hometown of Oxford, Mississippi. Our mission is to provide evidence-based services grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) that prioritize dignity, self-reliance, and meaningful outcomes for children. We work closely with families to create individualized support plans that foster learning and development. Dr. McCarthy’s expertise spans all age groups, with a current focus on very young children, and has included roles in universities, schools, state agencies, work sites, and residential settings.
